"Meltemi" is a local wind blowing during the summer from north to south.

Beaches facing south are protected from meltemi with the sea remaining calm.

In contrast, beaches which are affected by meltemi have wavy waters or sand hitting your body. Try to avoid those when strong meltemi blows.

Bellow there is a map with all beaches according to

MELTEMI EFFECT

Tip

Meltemi starts up around 10 in the morning and dies down late evening.

However there are days without winds or more rarely with south winds blowing.
